Nevermoor - Book Series Review

By Connor Wasiljew, 11 years old
Summary:
In Nevermoor, we meet Morrigan Crow, a young girl believing that she is cursed by her ruining everything around her. She also believes that she is supposed to die on a day called Eventide. However, on the night of Eventide, a man named Jupiter comes in a spider machine that can crawl around. He then takes her to a place called Nevermoor, where she tries to enter an elite academy through trials. The rest is about her crazy life as a Wundersmith and in the last book as a Darling.
What I liked and didn’t like:
I loved how much magic and adventure and playfulness that there was throughout the four books. For example, there are cats that can talk and hotels that are alive and can change the looks of each room and streets that can kill you upon entry. I also loved how I got to feel and really understand the way that the characters were feeling. For example, two characters were having a fight and I understood the emotions both of the characters were feeling. I didn’t like that there were only four books. I would have preferred for there to be more.
What it reminded me of:
The Nevermoor series reminded me of both Percy Jackson because of the magic and mystery and wonder. It also reminded me of Harry Potter because someone gets taken away from their house to live in a magical, unknown, new world. One more thing it reminded me of is Amari and the night brothers for being something presumed dangerous, but really you aren’t dangerous.
