Summary:

Stew, John and their dad are the Lockwood family. One cool night in Nevada, while their dad is out of town, the power suddenly shuts and they get stuck in a MASSIVE blackout. No one realizes that this is a survival of the fittest situation. The nearest civilization is 96 miles away and they don’t have a car, forcing them to walk 96 miles with very little food and water.

What I Liked and didn’t like:

I liked that the story was in a first person point of view because I could understand exactly what he was feeling a hundred percent of the time. I also liked John’s determination to keep going and his leadership. He kept everyone going even if they were dehydrated, exhausted, or hungry. I didn’t like that the book was so short because I loved it and wanted more.

What It Reminds Me Of:

96 Miles reminds me of Magnus Chase because they have a journey that they have to complete. It also reminds me of Keeper of The Lost Cities because of the strong friendship between the brothers.
