Summary:
In Magnus Chase, we meet Magnus Chase, a boy whose mom died when he was a young boy. On the night of the death, blue wolves burst into their apartment and Magnus’s mom told him to run. Just as he got to the fire escape, blue flames erupted in the room. A few years later, he is living homeless on the streets of Boston with his two buddies, Hearth, who is deaf, and Blitz, completely unaware that he is going to die to a fire giant later today.
What I Liked And Didn’t Like:
I liked that the book was written from a first person point of view because I really got to understand how Magnus was feeling all of the time. I also liked that the book was a series, because I loved the first book, so I was happy that there were more books for me to read. Another thing I liked was that the whole story revolved around Old Norse mythology. I love mythology and fantasy books because I feel like I fall into their world when I read those types of books. I was a little sad because I wish there were even more books that I could read in the Magnus Chase series.
What It Reminds Me Of:
Magnus Chase reminds me of Percy Jackson because of the mythology and the fact that there are gods and demigods running around. Another thing it reminds me of is Keeper of the Lost Cities because different people have different powers like Magnus can heal People by just touching them which is one power but then again ,with Keeper with the Lost Cities, some people can hide themselves in shadows or move rivers by waving their hands.
